Staff RN – Medical/Surgical (4th Floor)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Nights – 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care using the nursing process for Medical/Surgical patients
• Administer medications and perform treatments in a safe and accurate manner, implementing physician orders as written
• Provide patient and family education from admission through discharge
• Document the nursing process thoroughly, concisely, and accurately in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Notify the physician of pertinent observations and changes in patient status in a timely manner
• Direct and delegate role-appropriate tasks to nursing assistants and co-workers in a professional manner

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program resulting in a Diploma in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the State of Ohio
• Current CPR certification
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
• Demonstrated critical thinking, independent decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to perform heavy work, including exerting 50–100 lbs of force occasionally and frequent patient handling

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous Registered Nursing experience in a Medical/Surgical setting
• Familiarity with AIDET and TeamSTEPPS communication frameworks
• Experience supervising or directing nursing assistants in a clinical environment
