Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Garland/Dallas, TX 75041
Salary: $84,000 $98,000 annually
Schedule: Full-Time | Initially 1st Shift

Position Summary

We are seeking a driven and hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support the launch and growth of a dynamic manufacturing operation. This position is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, improving production efficiency, enhancing product quality, and driving cost-reduction initiatives. The Manufacturing Engineer will play a critical role in production planning, lean manufacturing implementation, new technology integration, capacity expansion projects, and new product introduction activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys building processes from the ground up, solving complex manufacturing challenges, and contributing to a growing operation. Key ResponsibilitiesSafety & Continuous Improvement

• Promote and maintain a safe working environment through implementation and monitoring of safety programs and protocols.

• Identify opportunities to reduce workplace risks and improve operational safety.

• Investigate manufacturing incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

• Support and participate in company safety initiatives and continuous improvement programs.

Manufacturing Process Optimization

• Analyze manufacturing processes to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and throughput.

• Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve workflow and operational performance.

• Establish and monitor key performance metrics, including production efficiency and labor utilization.

• Develop and implement process improvements that support operational goals.

Quality Assurance & Problem Solving

• Establish and maintain quality standards throughout manufacturing operations.

• Investigate production defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.

• Utilize root cause analysis methodologies to improve product quality and process reliability.

• Ensure manufacturing processes meet quality, regulatory, and customer requirements.

Production Planning & Coordination

• Collaborate with production planning teams to ensure schedules and customer commitments are achieved.

• Monitor production progress and coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational challenges.

• Support workflow optimization and resource allocation efforts.

Lean Manufacturing Initiatives

• Lead projects focused on waste reduction, process standardization, and continuous improvement.

• Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and best practices.

• Train and mentor team members on lean tools and methodologies.

• Drive initiatives that improve efficiency while reducing costs and non-value-added activities.

Resource Planning & Operations Support

• Assist in workforce planning and resource allocation to meet production objectives.

• Collaborate with operations leadership on staffing, training, and process improvements.

• Support the development of manufacturing standards and operational procedures.

New Technology & Automation

• Research, evaluate, and implement new manufacturing technologies to improve productivity and quality.

• Develop business cases and recommendations for equipment, automation, and process investments.

• Support implementation and validation of new technologies and manufacturing systems.

• Contribute to automation and robotics initiatives where applicable.

Capacity Expansion Projects

• Plan and execute projects designed to increase manufacturing capacity.

• Support equipment procurement, facility layout optimization, and process scalability initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational requirements throughout expansion activities.

New Product Introduction (NPI)

• Partner with Engineering, R&D, and Product Development teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.

• Develop manufacturing processes, tooling requirements, and documentation for product launches.

• Support prototype builds, process validation, and production ramp-up activities.

• Mentor and support junior engineering personnel as needed.

Cost Management

• Analyze manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.

• Implement efficiency improvements while maintaining product quality standards.

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital expenditure planning activities.

Required QualificationsEducation

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Experience

• 35 years of Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechanical Design experience.

• Experience supporting products through the full lifecycle, from concept development through production implementation.

• Experience evaluating, troubleshooting, and improving manufacturing processes and equipment.

• Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in startup manufacturing operations or facility launches.

• Robotics and automation experience.

• Experience with capital equipment implementation and facility expansion projects.

• Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.

• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production systems, and industrial equipment.

• Ability to interpret and create engineering drawings and technical documentation.

• Proficiency in engineering calculations, including stress analysis, FEA, modeling, and related engineering principles.

• Strong data analysis and reporting skills.

• Experience with process optimization and workflow improvement.

• Familiarity with manufacturing KPIs and production performance metrics.

Operations are currently launching and will initially operate on 1st Shift . Candidates must be comfortable working in a startup environment and be prepared for:

• Schedule flexibility as production demands evolve.

• Changing priorities and continuous process improvements.

• Supporting additional shifts and operational growth as the facility scales.

Future shifts and expanded operating schedules will be introduced as production volumes increase.
