About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Must have valid RN license Certifications: BCLS required Must-Have: - Flexibility with weekend requirements - Ability to work 50% of weekends during the contract - Willingness to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) - Ability to precept and/or host students during assignments Description: MUST BE FLEXIBLE WITH WEEKEND REQUIREMENTS. WEEKEND REQUIREMENT WILL BE BASED ON UNIT NEEDS. TRAVELERS MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 50% OF THE WEEKENDS IN THEIR CONTRACT. REFUSAL TO FLOAT MAY RESULT IN TERMINATION OF CONTRACT. CALL-INS: If a traveler calls in for a contracted shift, they are expected to make up the day during the pay period. If unable to make up shifts during the pay period, it will be added to the end of the traveler contract. Any call-in shifts for 1.2 FTE will be added to the end of the contract. Charge nurse responsibilities may be needed pending operational needs, with provided training and resources. Travelers must have a strong skill set in Telemetry and IV starts. Patient-to-nurse ratios will be 1:5-6. Unit information includes cardiovascular surgical services, peripheral vascular surgery, arrhythmias, and CHF exacerbation. All travelers should be ready to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals. Mandatory call coverage may apply based on operational needs. Daily census can be up to 25 patients, with a variety of diagnoses including cardiovascular surgical conditions. All submissions must ensure compliance with floating requirements and licensing stipulations. Candidates must have 2 supervisor references.
