Trailer Mechanic / Technician Position

Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Trailer Mechanic / Technician in Albany, Oregon! The Trailer Mechanic / Technician will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of Class 7 - 8 trailers and will operate vehicles and test all working parts in various functions to ensure proper operation.

Compensation: Competitive Hourly Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday.

Tuesday - Saturday 9:00 am to 5:30 pm

$30.00 hr - $34.00 hr

What the Trailer Mechanic / Technician role looks like:

• Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
• Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required
• Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles
• Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
• Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicle
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
• Perform other duties as required

What our ideal candidate looks like:

• Must have at least 2 years' experience performing vehicle and trailer maintenance.
• Must have Valid Driver's License
• Must be able to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind cab using normally available footholds and handholds
• Must provide own hand tools
• Perform DOT inspections
• Basic computer skills
• Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)

Working Conditions:

• Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
• Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise.
• Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants
• Ability to move and position heavy objects
• Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehicles
• Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
