Per Diem Educational Consultant (6-12 ELA)

The Per Diem Educational Consultant (6-12 ELA) is an on-site representative of Savvas Learning Company, helping to initiate lasting change in districts and schools by delivering core content, intervention, and supplemental professional development, Change of Practice, and Job-embedded services. This resource provides individual and group support to district personnel and school faculty in incorporating effective strategies into classroom practice. Additional responsibilities include delivering professional development and technical assistance to schools that have contracted with Savvas for professional development and job-embedded services. Primary Responsibilities Implement classroom components and resources in the program. Apply the program’s philosophy, pedagogy, and basic organization. Implement each segment of the daily instructional block. Differentiate instruction based on student and teacher needs. Manage the Savvas curriculum classroom, technology integration, and devices. Utilize data and reporting tools to inform instruction and decision making. Model coaching conversations to provide effective teacher feedback. Coach teachers to apply the program’s philosophy, pedagogy, and basic organization. Observe classroom practices to assess implementation progress. Provide critical feedback based on observations and model lesson studies. Use dashboards to analyze performance and assignment data. Support administrators in determining implementation needs and providing feedback. Facilitate training and provide onsite technical support. Maintain regular and ongoing communication with school and district leaders. Required Qualifications B.A. or B.S. degree (M.A. preferred). Experience offering workshops or coaching to teachers. Experience with classroom-based technology integration. Experience with differentiated instruction. Demonstrated success as a classroom teacher and at least five years of experience as a 6-12 professional in the ELA content area. Strong collaboration and team‑building skills. Knowledge of standards‑based reform, curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Ability to plan strategically with and coach school leaders and classroom teachers. Ability to provide instructional support for effective teaching strategies across content areas using instructional technology. Strong problem‑solving skills. Excellent presentation skills for large and small groups. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Desired Qualifications Scaffolding instruction for English Language Learners. Scaffolding instruction for students with disabilities. Strategies for effective classroom use of instructional technology. Experience in virtual teaching and learning. Experience with community outreach programs and services. Additional Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Ability to perform essential duties with reasonable accommodations if needed. Capacity to sit or stand at a personal computer for extended periods, typing, reading, and presenting. Ability to handle a high volume of work, multiple priorities, and a demanding work environment. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Travel Requirements Must be able to travel up to 70% of the time, including airline and automobile travel. Must have a reliable method of transportation.
