Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | Onsite | Preferred contract length of 24 weeks; shorter contracts considered

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit serving a diverse patient population including oncology, cardiac acute/med care, post-surgical, bariatric, urology, neurology, orthopedic, hospice/palliative care, and patients with intellectual disabilities
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and EKG readings; complete open-book EKG assessment at orientation
• Manage a patient assignment at a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Float to a sister facility approximately 25 minutes away as required; weekend coverage on a rotating every-other-weekend schedule (12 weekend shifts per contract)
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using the EPIC electronic health records system

Required Qualifications

• Valid Arizona RN license or Compact RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (must not expire within 30 days of assignment start date)
• Minimum 1.5 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry nursing experience
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records system
• Experience managing a 1:6 patient ratio
• Willingness and ability to float to a sister facility; no blocked scheduling

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification
• Experience caring for oncology, hospice/palliative care, or bariatric patient populations
