Missouri/Kansas BES Project Delivery Leader

HDR offers a leadership position for a seasoned professional to serve as the Missouri/Kansas Building Engineering Services (BES) Project Delivery Leader (PDL). The PDL reports to the Missouri/Kansas BES Business Group Manager and provides consistent project management processes, quality oversight, and mentorship across the Business Group. Responsibilities Develop, coordinate, monitor, and improve technical competencies of area staff and products to meet client needs and market drivers. Lead and monitor development and training of BES staff in technical and business competencies across all area offices (Kansas City, St. Louis, Springfield, and Wichita). Oversee workload balancing and ensure qualified staffing of project teams. Lead quality assurance efforts to implement QA/QC program activities and drive continuous improvement. Monitor project QC review activities, assigning experienced and qualified reviewers. Guide continuous improvement initiatives, including development and use of technical standards, procedures, best practices, and lessons learned. Participate in project reviews and support project teams with management of claims and losses. Lead the area mentoring initiative. Oversee technical and digital delivery evolution in collaboration with subject matter experts. Work with the Area Manager to streamline and coordinate business processes consistent with area and corporate policy. Ensure implementation of quality standards and best practices. Provide leadership to assigned business class leaders, including cross‑sector leaders. Collaborate with area operations, market sectors, business classes, and delivery leaders. Participate in area strategic planning and plan implementation. Support area activities related to hiring and retaining key staff. Serve as a champion for BGX opportunities. Support communication and coordination within all business groups. Perform other duties as needed. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 10 years of experience developing, managing, and leading multi‑discipline project delivery teams. Proven history of delivering high‑quality, profitable, and successful building facility projects. Extensive knowledge and experience with systems and project‑management tools for effective project delivery. Industry experience delivering facility projects across sectors such as healthcare, mission‑critical, and/or industrial. Demonstrated experience managing and leading diverse teams. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Minimum 15 years’ experience. Maintains professional or engineering registration and has extensive related technical expertise. Experienced in management and development of diverse teams. Works cooperatively with operations managers, technical staff, and marketing managers on professional‑services‑related efforts.
