Job Details Job ID: 5815151 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: Jul 02, 2026 6:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: Immediately Position Type: Full‑Time Salary: $18.30 Per Hour Job Description Position Title: Security Guard Classification: Non‑exempt General Statement of Responsibilities: To provide general support for campus security related tasks; to patrol buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and unauthorized entry; and to assist in the assurance of student safety on campus and during the school day and during special district activities. Principal Duties By example and enforcement, assist with student safety needs by regulating appropriate behaviour and enforcing school policies. May be asked to monitor in‑school suspension. Patrol and inspect doors, windows and gates, school grounds, cars and parking lots. Confront unauthorized persons and question them, calling police for assistance according to the emergency action plan. Prepare reports including documentation for emergencies, vandalism, disturbances and names of individuals entering in the evening. Update travel and maintenance logs for security vehicles, when appropriate. Respond to calls for services or emergencies including but not limited to student incidents, burglar alarms, fire alarms and calls regarding conspicuous persons. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge and Skills Required Knowledge of federal, state and city laws, rules and regulations. Knowledge of district policies and procedures. Knowledge of general safety rules and techniques. Skill in working with law enforcement and school administration. Skill in training security guards and other personnel on best practices for safety and security. Skill in patrolling and monitoring physical areas and people. Skill in assuring safety at activities. Skill in communicating orally and in writing. Skill in performing first aid. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Three years of work experience in security or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skill. Must meet Arizona Department of Health Services safety and health requirements, including proof of immunity from measles and rubella. IVP fingerprint clearance card. Physical Requirements Able to perform the following physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation: general vision, corrected to 20/20; hearing within normal range (corrected); speaking and giving directions clearly; walking, sitting, standing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, lifting (up to 50 pounds), carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects up to 125 pounds. Required License/Certification Arizona driver’s license and ability to obtain first aid. CPR certification within 60 days of employment.
