Food Service Teacher

As the Food Service Teacher of Primrose School of Jenison, you'll prepare delicious, nutritious food that helps fuel children as they explore, play and develop a lifelong love of learning. Minimum qualifications include being 18 years of age or older, complying with all company and state-specific standards and maintaining validation of required credentials for the position, ability to successfully pass a state background check, strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to connect with students, high school diploma or GED AND at least two years of experience with cooking in large quantities, preferably in a school setting, and a ServSafe Food Handler certification or willingness to obtain it within 90 days of employment.

Make a difference every day by encouraging healthy eating habits through delicious and nutritious foods, maintaining a keen awareness of children who have allergies and food restrictions, ensuring food service area and food are free of nuts, nut products or food items that have been processed in a facility that also processes nut products, following the daily menu prepared in collaboration with or by the Director, and assisting with ordering food and calculating the amount needed.
