School Psychologist

School Psychologist is needed for K-8th grade. Start date: Immediate, 2016-17 school year. Equitas Academy Charter School is seeking passionate educators to join our Special Education team at our 3 schools serving the students and families of Pico Union.

The mission of Equitas Academy Charter School is to provide a structured, achievement-based community that prepares students (scholars) to graduate from college-preparatory high schools, four-year colleges and universities. We have demonstrated consistent success with our scholars and continue to push for excellence each and every day. We are proud of our results but never satisfied.

Responsibilities include conducting individual and group evaluations and diagnoses of learning, behavior and/or adjustment problems of students at assigned schools; providing guidance and assistance to students with learning, behavior and/or adjustment problems; providing support in developing appropriate individual and/or group programs of instruction and treatment of learning disabilities, including performing FBAs and developing BSPs; assisting in systematically reassessing children with special education needs as appropriate; providing in-service training in learning, child development and child management to parents, teachers, administrators and other professionals and paraprofessionals; providing consultation and advisement to administrators, teachers, and parents regarding the general and special education programs as appropriate; coordinating, communicating with and seeking consultation with community agencies as appropriate; effectively communicating knowledge and ideas orally and in writing; maintaining effective interpersonal relationships and communication in the professional setting; and performing other duties as assigned or requested by the appropriate administrator.

Qualifications

• School Psychology Credential; Masters Degree or higher in related field; successful school psychology and special education experience.
• Knowledge of, and support for, Equitas Academy’s mission, vision, and educational model.
• Experience with Welligent
• Bilingual-Spanish strongly preferred
