Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3x12 Mid Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (3 PM - 3:30 AM) Experience: Two years of acute care RN experience License: Nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Strong skills in patient assessment - Ability to initiate and implement a plan of care - Proficiency in clinical interventions - Experience in patient and family education - Ability to mentor and precept staff Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective, patient-centered care. Customer satisfaction and quality outcomes are essential elements of this role. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. Promoting personal development emphasizes evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises both licensed and non-licensed staff members. The RN applies the caring processes of a recognized model of care. The RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. Focus on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction is crucial. The RN uses their educational and professional experience in delivering quality care. Mentoring and precepting staff are also key responsibilities. Job Responsibilities: Performs assessments and reassessments according to policy and procedure or based on patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. Reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the organizational and patient/family needs. Monitors and documents response to clinical interventions. Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. Delegates tasks to both licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor and preceptor. Encourages and facilitates teamwork among staff. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Implements practice changes and complies with regulatory standards. Participates in the Practice Governance model.
