Transfer Preparation Coordinator

Job Summary The Transfer Prep Coordinator designs, coordinates, and implements services at assigned school sites and partner institutions to support community college students and high school students in their transfer and college readiness journeys. The Coordinator provides individualized guidance on transfer planning, academic preparation, financial aid, and postsecondary decision-making while fostering partnerships with schools, colleges, and community organizations. The role requires preventative outreach, curriculum design, and program evaluation to enhance transfer student success and is based primarily on site visits in San Francisco and San Mateo counties, with occasional work at UCSF’s Mission Center. Responsibilities 60% Comprehensive Transfer Advising & Student Support Promote the California Community College transfer pathway and design activities to increase enrollment in four‑year institutions. Provide individual and group advising to prospective transfer students and maintain relationships with students at assigned school sites. Develop academic plans and advise on eligibility requirements and transfer admission policies. Design and deliver grade‑appropriate transfer prep workshops, curricula, and activities. Organize recruitment events to meet statewide participant standards. Plan college visits and other transfer activities. Maintain relationships with parents and families to support student success. 10% Summer Enrichment Leadership & Planning Design and lead summer academic enrichment programs that expose students to college settings and career exploration. Supervise student interns and peer mentors. 10% Data Management & Service Assessment Produce program reports, collect student data for annual reporting, and maintain accurate records of engagement and progress. Use data to assess transfer needs at assigned schools. 10% Strategic Partnerships & School Engagement Develop collaborative relationships with other college preparation programs and K‑14 staff. Collaborate with school administrators, counselors, and teachers. Serve on committees, workgroups, and coordinating bodies. Participate in strategic planning to improve college‑going culture and transfer awareness. 5% Continuous Learning & Professional Development Stay informed about trends in K‑14 academic preparation and transfer pathways. Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance program quality. 5% Other Duties As Necessary Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 years of relevant experience and/or training. At least 3 years of professional experience advising educationally disadvantaged students on post‑secondary opportunities. Strong knowledge of transfer pathways, higher‑education policies, and the impact of policy changes. Familiarity with K‑12 and higher‑education institutions (UC, CSU, CC, etc.) and their admissions and aid processes. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with school district administrators, counselors, principals, teachers, and community contacts. Knowledge of high‑school graduation and college entrance requirements. Demonstrated cultural competency regarding race, ethnicity, and socio‑economic status. Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Organizational and program coordination skills, including multi‑project management. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Availability for occasional work outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree or 5 to 7 years of equivalent experience or training working with high‑school and community‑college students. At least 3 years of experience working at a community college and/or advising community‑college students. Knowledge of youth and adolescent development theory, especially with low‑income, first‑generation urban youth. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Qualtrics. #J-18808-Ljbffr UCSF Health
