Dental Assistant

Description We're seeking a full-time Expanded Duties Dental Assistant to provide chairside support and perform delegated expanded functions in a busy general/family practice. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, detail-oriented, and holds a current Georgia EDDA certificate. Responsibilities include providing four-handed chairside assistance during restorative, surgical, and hygiene procedures; performing delegated expanded functions per Georgia Board Rule 150-9-02, which may include coronal polishing, applying sealants and fluoride, applying desensitizing agents, fabricating temporary restorations extraorally, and monitoring nitrous oxide/oxygen administration; taking and processing dental radiographs; preparing and breaking down operatories; sterilizing and maintaining instruments per infection-control standards; taking impressions/digital scans and assisting with lab case management; educating patients on post-op and oral hygiene instructions; maintaining accurate clinical documentation in the practice management system; and supporting front-office coordination as needed (scheduling, patient flow). Qualifications At least 1 year of dental assisting experience is required. Other qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; current Georgia EDDA certificate(s) covering the specific expanded functions to be performed (issued by a Board-approved program; a candidate must hold current CPR certification and a certificate documenting completion of a Georgia Board-approved course for the specific expanded duties); Dental Assisting National Board certification; current CPR/BLS certification; current radiology/radiography certification; prior chairside experience preferred (graduation from an accredited dental assisting program or CDA a plus); strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. #J-18808-Ljbffr
