Overview The Human Resources Expert role at Target supports teams and leaders in building a sales force that exceeds guests’ expectations. The role involves engaging with guests, supporting team members, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies. Responsibilities Create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience by: Greeting guests with friendliness, smile, eye contact, or wave. Assisting guests in finding products or resolving issues. Ending transactions with a sincere thank you. Actively support team efforts and assist peers across areas while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude. Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an inspiring guest experience. Collaborate with HR leaders to anticipate and address talent and staffing needs for in‑store and digital shopping experiences. Lead focused recruiting efforts to help store leaders find and hire candidates. Support team member and leader training needs and advocate for continuous learning. Serve as an expert resource for scheduling systems and pay practices. Listen to team members and collaborate with appropriate leaders to take action as needed. Deliver on all Human Resources processes and programs to maximize team member engagement and minimize business disruption. Support leadership in following company compliance policies that mitigate risk to the team member experience. Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance, working safely at all times and reporting hazards. Perform all other duties as based on business needs. Qualifications Enjoy interacting and helping others, including guests and teammates. Thrive in a fast‑moving, highly active, physically demanding environment with teamwork, flexibility, and creative problem‑solving. Open to flexible work schedules with varying hours, days, or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times). Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and teammates. Effective communication skills on multiple frequency devices and technology equipment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot. Attention to detail and follow multi‑step processes. Remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment and accomplish tasks within established timeframes. Accurately handle cash register operations as needed. Demonstrate physical capability to lift up to 44 pounds with occasional lifts up to 10 pounds, and work in varying temperatures and humidity. Maintain mobility throughout the scheduled shift and take required meals and rest breaks. Physical Demands Frequent lifting or moving merchandise up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 44 pounds; exposure to varying temperatures and humidity; ability to remain mobile during shifts.
