Job Summary Evaluates cardiac patients, plans and implements a cardiac rehabilitation program. Completes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned. Benefits Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer match Generous paid time off Career development and continuing education opportunities Health savings accounts, healthcare & dependent flexible spending accounts Employee Assistance program, Employee discount program Voluntary benefits include pet insurance, legal insurance, accident and critical illness insurance, long-term care, elder & childcare, auto & home insurance Responsibilities Demonstrates knowledge and skills required for EKG interpretation, taking and monitoring blood pressure, heart rate, pulse oximetry and fitness equipment Administers appropriate treatments to patients Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory guidelines (AACVPR), best practices and standard Cardiac Rehabilitation care Fosters communication with nurses, doctors, patients and families and other hospital personnel to establish department rapport Provides instruction and supervision to student interns and volunteers as well as input for performance appraisals Maintains timely and accurate medical records Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively Maintains safe environment Addresses patient population-specific needs Participates in Performance Improvement activities Qualifications Minimum Education Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology or related field from an accredited college or university Minimum Experience 12‑week internship in cardiac rehabilitation Preferred Experience 1–2 years experience with exercise prescription in a clinical setting Preferred Certifications/License American College of Sports Medicine – Clinical Exercise Physiologist Required Courses / Completions Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire. AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transferred into role.
