Project Engineer

Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking a Project Engineer in Honolulu, Hawaii to support the project management team on commercial mechanical construction projects while developing skills toward a Project Manager role.

Impact
- Accelerate project delivery by keeping submittals, RFIs, and change orders on track
- Strengthen communication between field teams, general contractors, and design professionals
- Build a pipeline of future project management leadership through hands-on development

Responsibilities
- Assist with the compilation and tracking of RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and contract documents
- Review project drawings and specifications to understand the contracted scope of work
- Compile and track change orders including pricing, scoping, and documentation
- Update and manage documents in project management systems, ensuring accuracy and organization
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers to procure submittals and track submittal logs
- Coordinate and manage project subcontractors including seismic vendors and controls subcontractors
- Create, distribute, and maintain Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) for project tasks
- Maintain professional and timely communication with general contractors, design teams, owners, and internal stakeholders
- Assist with project close-out requirements including O&M manuals and training program documentation
- Support and participate in the company safety program

Requirements
Must-Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent field experience)
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Stable work history demonstrating reliability

Nice-to-Haves
- Prior internship or experience in commercial mechanical or HVAC construction
- Familiarity with RFI and submittal workflows on large commercial projects
- Experience with project management software platforms
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification
