JK Executive Strategies is proud to partner with Jordan Health in search of a Chief Medical Officer to join its executive leadership team.
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) provides strategic clinical leadership, medical oversight, and operational direction to advance Jordan Health's mission and long-term sustainability. Reporting to the President & CEO, the CMO leads the organization's clinical strategy, driving quality, population health, integrated care, provider engagement, regulatory compliance, and improved patient outcomes.
Working closely with executive leadership, the CMO strengthens care delivery, expands clinical capacity, supports provider development, and ensures high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care. This leader partners across clinical, operational, financial, and community teams to improve access, optimize resources, and advance organizational goals.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative, mission-driven physician executive who models integrity, accountability, and clinical excellence while fostering a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and exceptional patient care.
Clinical Strategy & Medical Leadership
- Provide strategic leadership for Jordan Health's medical programs and clinical services.
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and implement clinical strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Lead efforts to integrate medical programs and strengthen coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Participate in program planning and the development of departmental goals and objectives.
- Develop clinical initiatives and policy recommendations that support organizational growth.
Clinical Capacity, Access & Utilization
- Establish and monitor clinical capacity, productivity, and utilization targets.
- Recruit, retain, and mentor clinical providers.
- Set performance expectations and hold providers accountable for results.
- Ensure clinical operations support organizational priorities.
- Partner with finance and operations to support sustainable clinical programs.
- Use technology and data to improve provider effectiveness, efficiency, and patient access.
Quality, Patient Safety & Clinical Outcomes
- Oversee Jordan Health's clinical quality, peer review, and performance improvement programs.
- Ensure evidence-based standards of care are consistently delivered.
- Evaluate clinical performance and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Partner with Quality Improvement to develop dashboards and meaningful clinical metrics.
- Collaborate with nursing and clinical leaders to improve patient care and operational efficiency.
- Promote a culture of accountability and clinical excellence.
Provider Leadership & Engagement
- Mentor providers and support complex clinical decision-making.
- Support onboarding, education, and ongoing provider development.
- Conduct provider evaluations in accordance with organizational policies.
- Partner with Human Resources on provider performance management.
- Lead provider meetings that promote communication and accountability.
- Foster a positive, collaborative clinical culture.
Population Health & Community Programs
- Lead clinical programming based on patient needs, community health priorities, and data.
- Partner with leadership to identify opportunities for new and expanded services.
- Collaborate with community partners to improve access and population health outcomes.
- Support innovative programs that advance Jordan Health's mission.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Develop and maintain clinical policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with HRSA, NYSDOH, Joint Commission, QA/QI, and other regulatory requirements.
- Promote adherence to professional, ethical, and organizational standards.
Financial & Organizational Leadership
- Partner with executive leadership on departmental budgets and resource planning.
- Support grant opportunities through clinical leadership and program development.
- Use performance data to guide planning, staffing, and operational improvements.
- Provide regular reports and recommendations to the CEO and Board.
- Participate as an active member of the executive leadership team.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Preventive Medicine, or another relevant specialty.
- Unrestricted New York medical license (or ability to obtain).
- Current DEA registration.
- Seven (7)+ years of progressive physician leadership experience.
- Experience leading clinical operations, provider performance, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong knowledge of population health, healthcare quality, patient safety, reimbursement, and value-based care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- FQHC physician leadership experience preferred.
- Experience serving diverse, underserved, Medicaid, or vulnerable populations.
- Experience with HRSA, NYSDOH, Joint Commission, QA/QI, and peer review.
- Experience supporting grants, integrated care models, and clinical program development.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of community health, primary care, and public health.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and provider development skills.
- Ability to use data to drive strategic and operational decisions.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to lead effectively in a complex healthcare environment.

Salary Range
$216,550 – $240,000
