Assistant Project Manager / Senior Project Engineer Water & Wastewater Construction

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager or Senior Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This individual will play a key role in managing project execution from preconstruction through closeout, working closely with project managers, superintendents, owners, engineers, and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate will have experience on self-perform water/wastewater treatment plant projects including concrete structures, underground utilities, process mechanical piping, and equipment installation.

Responsibilities

• Support overall project execution including scheduling, budgeting, procurement, subcontract management, and client coordination
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and project documentation
• Assist with project cost tracking, forecasting, and monthly reporting
• Coordinate with field teams to ensure work is progressing safely, on schedule, and in accordance with contract documents
• Work closely with owners, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors to resolve technical and construction issues
• Help manage procurement and delivery of long-lead process equipment and materials
• Participate in project planning, sequencing, and scheduling efforts
• Support quality control, commissioning, and project closeout activities
• Mentor junior engineers and help drive project team performance

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• 4+ years of experience for Senior Project Engineer candidates
• 6+ years of experience for Assistant Project Manager candidates
• Strong background in water/wastewater treatment plant construction preferred
• Experience with self-perform concrete, piping, mechanical, or underground utility scopes
• Knowledge of scheduling software, cost control, and project management systems
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced construction environment
