Compensation: $160,000–$250,000 + equity
Our client is a venture-backed, growth-stage cybersecurity company building modern identity and access governance for large organizations, including Fortune 500 enterprises and well-known high-growth startups. Their platform helps security and engineering teams manage access across people, service accounts, and automated agents at scale. It is a lean, senior team where engineers own meaningful parts of the product and talk directly with customers.

The RoleYou will own the reliability, security, scalability, and performance of a platform serving major enterprise customers, while building the tools and systems that let product engineers ship quickly. This is a high-ownership infrastructure role on a small, high-caliber engineering team.
What you'll be doing
- Own critical infrastructure components and drive architecture decisions with high autonomy.
- Keep the platform stable, secure, scalable, and performant under enterprise-scale traffic.
- Build the internal tools, systems, and best practices that product engineers depend on.
- Partner with leadership, product, and engineering on roadmap and architecture.
- Work directly with enterprise customers on infrastructure feedback and issues.
Tech stack: Golang, Kubernetes, Terraform, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redis, GraphQL, TypeScript, React, AWS, GCP
Requirements- 4+ years as a software engineer building distributed systems.
- A software engineer who works on infrastructure, writing services and systems rather than only operating or maintaining infrastructure.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, with the coding ability to pass a rigorous algorithmic coding screen held to the same bar as product engineers.
- Demonstrated systems design skill for large distributed systems.
- Backend development in Golang or a comparable systems language.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP): deploying, scaling, and monitoring at production scale.
- Experience building or scaling systems for enterprise-grade traffic or multi-tenant SaaS.
- Working familiarity with infrastructure tooling such as Kubernetes, Terraform, and Kafka (baseline awareness, not deep specialization).
- Experience building internal developer platforms or tooling that other engineers rely on.
- High-impact, high-ownership infrastructure role on a lean, senior engineering team.
- Direct exposure to enterprise customers, with little bureaucracy between you and the problem.
- Strong compensation plus meaningful equity at a growth-stage company with real momentum.
- Work on hard infrastructure problems in a category that is expanding quickly.
- Location: San Francisco, CA
- Work policy: Hybrid, roughly 3 days per week in office
- Compensation: $160,000–$250,000 + equity
