Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 3/4 NICU position in Austin, TX, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Level 3 NICU experience and current NRP certification.

Details

• Level 3/4 NICU within a large hospital setting featuring 97 beds and a staff of approximately 200
• Patient ratio of 3–4 patients per RN
• Equipment used includes Medfusion pumps, Alaris pumps, Giraffe isolettes, and GE monitors
• EMR systems in use: CPN and Meditech
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• No on-call requirements
• Unit is staffed primarily by RNs with one unit clerk per shift

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS and NRP (Advanced 9th Edition, American Academy of Pediatrics)
• Minimum 2 years of Level 3 NICU experience required
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Preferred candidates will have prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers will not be considered)
• Navy scrubs are required; no nail polish or artificial nails permitted
• Candidates are expected to be friendly, outgoing, and compassionate in their approach to patient care
