Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator II

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Med - Pulmonary/Allergy/Critical Care, is seeking a Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator II. General Responsibilities include serving as the primary coordinator for clinical research studies, supporting more senior team members, and providing a lead role in protocol screening and participant eligibility determination. The role also involves conducting all study activities in accordance with the protocol, Institutional Review Board (IRB) regulations, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP). The Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator II will provide quality care to participants and their families within the area of clinical specialty, coordinate the life cycle of the study from start-up through maintenance to closure, and manage participant care including recruitment, screening, scheduling, consenting, conducting visits, and collecting various assessments such as adverse event (AE) information or questionnaires. The position acts as a liaison between the clinical and research staff, departments, ancillary services, and the study sponsor to ensure protocol compliance throughout the study.

Key duties and responsibilities include conducting and executing clinical trials, recruiting, obtaining informed consent, completing study visits, patient assessments, and communicating with study sponsors. The Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator II will conduct study visits per research protocols, conduct data entry and query resolution per study protocols, and perform other duties as assigned. The annual salary range is $60,835 - $98,855.

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for the education requirement. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing is required. Nursing degree and experience as a research coordinator are preferred. CCRC is preferred but not required.
