Position Overview

Our organization is currently in search of a full-time psychiatrist (1.0 FTE) to become a vital part of our team, offering a distinctive chance to engage across various levels of care. The role encompasses:

• 3 days per week: Focused on the Comprehensive Addiction Psychiatry Service (CAPS) and the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) at our Biddeford Main Street location.
• 2 days per week: A combined role providing psychiatric services for the PHP and covering the CAPS Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
• 1 day per week: Exclusively dedicated to the CAPS program, conducting IOP intakes, following up with patients, and offering outpatient care for a limited caseload of CAPS clients.
• 2 days per week: Outpatient care at either:
  • Biddeford Ambulatory Clinic on Springbrook Drive, or
  • Springvale Ambulatory Clinic, depending on the provider's preference.

The CAPS program specializes in treating individuals with substance use disorders alongside co-occurring psychiatric conditions. Key services include:

• Intensive outpatient programming
• Medication-assisted treatment
• Integrated behavioral health strategies within a multidisciplinary team

The CAPS Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is an in-person initiative designed as a transitional care step for individuals moving from the PHP, facilitating their recovery and ensuring seamless continuity of care as they shift to outpatient treatment.

Situated at our Biddeford Main Street location, the PHP serves as a bridge between inpatient and outpatient care, providing an alternative for those needing more intensive treatment than standard outpatient visits. The program features:

• Two distinct tracks:
  • One aimed at mental health stabilization
  • Another focused on substance use disorders (SUD) and co-occurring conditions
• Structured group therapy emphasizing emotional regulation, cognitive restructuring, and wellness
• Personalized treatment planning with specific tracks and durations
• A multidisciplinary team comprising psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses
• A commitment to alleviating psychiatric symptoms and preventing the need for inpatient hospitalization

Our ambulatory clinics in Biddeford (Springbrook Drive) and Springvale are essential elements of our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model, ensuring prompt access to comprehensive and coordinated behavioral health services for individuals and families in York County. Both locations provide:

• Outpatient psychiatry and medication management
• Individual and family therapy
• Specialized treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions
• Case management and care coordination
• Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team services
• Trauma-informed, recovery-oriented methodologies
• Telehealth and hybrid care options

• MD or DO with board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Maine
