About the Position

Registered Nurse - OR

Location: Petoskey, Michigan

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM - 5:15 PM, 4x10-hour shifts with one random day off, plus on-call requirements

Hours per Week: 50

Requirements

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional surgical care across multiple specialties including Ortho, General, Endo-Vascular, Urgo, and OB procedures
• Collaborate with surgeons and the perioperative team to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes
• Prepare operating rooms and equipment while maintaining strict sterile technique
• Monitor patients throughout procedures and respond quickly to any changes
• Support McLaren Northern's mission of providing life-saving and elective surgeries with compassion and expertise

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license verified through LARA and Nursys
• Minimum 2 years of recent OR nursing experience
• Skills checklist completed within the last year
• Preferred experience in Ortho, General, Endo-Vascular, Urgo, and OB cases

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
• Ability to handle a wide variety of surgical cases with confidence
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced OR environment
• Commitment to patient safety and strict attendance standards
