Clinical Director - Substance Use Disorder (SUD) PHP/IOP

Location: Virginia Beach, VA
Job Type: Full-Time
Openings: 1
Setting: Outpatient SUD PHP/IOP
Schedule: Monday-Friday | Normal business hours | No regular weekends

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Director to oversee the clinical operations and staff of an outpatient SUD PHP/IOP program. The ideal candidate will have strong SUD treatment experience, clinical leadership experience, and hands-on knowledge of ASAM criteria.

• Lead and oversee clinical operations for the SUD PHP/IOP program.

• Supervise counselors and clinical staff.

• Oversee treatment planning, documentation, and quality of care.

• Apply ASAM criteria to clinical and level-of-care decisions.

• Ensure compliance with DBHDS, DMAS/Medicaid, ASAM, and other regulations.

• Support audits, quality improvement, and accreditation requirements.

• Provide clinical guidance for complex cases.

• Develop clinical processes and support program growth.

• Step in clinically when needed.

• Active Virginia LCSW or LPC license required .

• 5+ years of behavioral health experience preferred.

• Significant and recent direct SUD treatment experience required .

• Direct SUD PHP/IOP experience required .

• Hands-on experience applying ASAM criteria in a treatment setting required.

• Previous clinical supervision or leadership experience.

• Experience supervising counselors and clinical staff.

• Virginia DBHDS and DMAS/Medicaid experience preferred.

• LSATP or other SUD credentials preferred.

• CARF/accreditation experience is a plus.

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
