We also offer systematic alpha and alternative strategies to complement clients' core holdings.This role is part of Parametric's hybrid working model, which includes working in the office 3 days a week and choosing to work remotely or in the office the remaining days of the week.ABOUT THE TEAMThe Platform Engineering team is part of Parametric IT's Developer Experience department at Parametric and is vital to developer enablement and system reliability in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). As a team, we:Consult and collaborate with cloud-native (AWS, Azure) and self-hosted application teams to deliver and operate reliable, performant, robust, and secure applicationsAutomate provisioning of non-production environment for application development and testingDesign, operate, and manage development toolchains and CI/CD pipelines to meet objectives for high-velocity delivery while also meeting control requirementsBuild and maintain container orchestration on KubernetesProvide observability via monitoring tools such as Datadog, Splunk, Sentry etc.ABOUT THE ROLEThe Senior Platform Engineer will partner with cloud-native application development teams with direct business alignment - empowering them to deliver quality software at high velocity, rapidly receive actionable feedback, and cultivating an environment of continuous experimentation. Additionally, the Senior Platform Engineer will create reusable components and workflows that deliver superior developer experience.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESFunction as subject matter expert in the areas of delivering and operating reliable, performant, robust, and secure applicationsWork with the development teams to design, document, create and maintain highly available systemsDesign, implement, and manage centralized monitoring solutions that provide expedient actionable feedback to the development teamsPartner with the application development teams to create flows, processes, automation, and toolingCreate an environment of continuous experimentation and learningContribute to evolution of our architecture (cloud-focused) to increase its flexibility and ease of useFollow technology trends/tools and recommend improvements to our technology when appropriateMentor new or less senior members of the teamShare experience, knowledge, and ideas to the team to improve processes and productivityProvide tier 2 and 3 escalations for related issues and questionsJob QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in computer science or related area of study5+ years of hands-on Platform Engineering (i.e., DevOps, SysOps, SRE) experience with a proven track record of people and thought leadership to achieve strategic objectives5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud-native solution architectures and related platform support, i.e., Cyber Security, Infrastructure as Code (IAC), ObservabilityAbility to dive deep and get hands-on to contribute to platform engineering solutionsExpertise in automation strategies for cloud-native solutions (pipelines, IAC, test suites)Proven experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platformsExperience implementing IAC - Terraform preferredExperience using GitHub and engineering YAML based ci/cd pipelinesExperience implementing and operating container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes)Developer enablement mindset with an ability to collaborate across technology teamsExperience with Vulnerability Management tooling (SAST and SCA scanning) integration with SDLC toolchainExperience using Gen AI tooling for software development and testing productivityExpertise scripting with Python, BASH, PowerShellParametric believes each member of our organization makes a significant contribution to our success. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
