Join the dynamic team at University of Wisconsin–Madison as our next Fraternity & Sorority Life Specialist! As a Fraternity & Sorority Life Specialist, you will play a vital role in shaping and leading programmatic and project areas. We are a nimble team that provides flexibility and autonomy within assigned areas while maintaining deep connectivity across the team. The FSL team focuses on belonging, leadership, and harm prevention and as an FSL Specialist, you will have space to explore each of these areas while elevating existing and creating new engagement and learning opportunities for more than 6,000 fraternity and sorority members. This position will join the Fraternity & Sorority Life (FSL) team and support our collective vision to set the standard for innovative, impactful work that advances fraternity/sorority. Together, the FSL team supports and guides more than 6,000 students across 65+ chapters in creating positive, meaningful, and transformative membership experiences. Key Job Responsibilities Schedules logistics and secures resources to support the operational plans of the program or unit May monitor the program budget and approve expenditures May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees Plans, organizes, administers, and manages processes and operations related to assigned area(s) of responsibility Monitors, evaluates, and modifies processes, procedures, and/or standards, ensuring alignment with the Institution's mission, values, goals, and objectives, as well as all local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Serves as the program or unit liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups Advises and enforces Institution policies related to services in Student Affairs Department Wisconsin Union, Social Education, Fraternity & Sorority Life (FSL) Compensation The expected starting salary for the position is $57,795. We are currently recruiting for two positions. Required Qualifications Three years minimum experience working with fraternities/sororities on a campus or national organization Experience supporting culturally based fraternal organizations (CBFOs) Demonstrated understanding of harm prevention and reduction strategies Demonstrated understanding of student learning and curriculum design and facilitating educational programs Experience advising college students Strong commitment to equity Ability to work independently and collectively Preferred Qualifications Experience with population level strategies to influence students and organizations Education Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, or related field is preferred.
