Diesel Technician Hudson West Location (Tuesday-Friday Shift)

Diesel Technician

We're expanding our team of Diesel Technicians at our West shop in Hudson, IL! In this role, you will perform repairs and preventative maintenance on fleet equipment (semi-trucks & trailers), as well as DOT equipment inspections. You'll need a safety-first mindset, strong organizational skills, and ideally a Diesel Tech degree or 1+ years of experience as a diesel or heavy-duty trailer technician. We need working equipment ready to go at all times, so this role is critical to Nussbaum's success! Your duties include:

• Preventative maintenance on semi-trucks & trailers.
• Diagnose and repair fleet equipment.
• Complete repairs following DOT requirements.
• Perform all inspections, including state and federally-mandated safety inspections.
• Perform system repairs, including air & hydraulics, tires, suspension, electrical, etc.
• Follow safe work practices.
• Maintain an organized and clean work area.

Schedule

• Full-time position; hiring for 2nd shift.
• Potential for different shifts
• Tuesday Friday, 2:00 PM 12:30 AM. 10-hour shift.

• Pay range: $20 $40 per hour, depending on skills and experience. Trainees start at $18 per hour.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Diesel Technician Degree OR 1+ years of experience as a diesel/heavy-duty trailer technician.
• Brake and DOT Certifications.
• Welding certificate or 6 months of experience.
• Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (Monthly Incentive).
• Basic toolkit and toolbox.
