Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified candidate for a nursing position in a Trauma/Ortho/Med-Surg unit. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary certifications and experience to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Information

The unit comprises 36 beds, staffed by a dedicated team of 49 professionals. The staffing ratios are optimized for quality care:

  • Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 3 RNs, 3 LPNs, 3 PCTs, and 1 Secretary
  • Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 3 RNs, 3 LPNs, 3 PCTs
Patient Care Details

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 6:1, allowing for effective monitoring and care of each patient. The unit is equipped with advanced medical equipment, including:
  • IV pumps
  • Wound Vacs
  • SCD pumps
  • Kangaroo Pumps
  • Chest Tubes
  • Telemetry
  • PCA pumps
  • Bipaps
  • Epidurals
The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system is utilized for efficient patient documentation.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess the following:
  • Active Nursing License
  • ACLS Certification
  • BLS Certification
  • Med-Surg experience
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Preferred Skills

While not required, the following skills are preferred:
  • Prioritization skills
  • Time management skills
Typical Procedures

The nursing staff is responsible for various procedures, including:
  • Wound Vac changes
  • Wound care
  • IV insertions
  • Insertion of indwelling Foley catheters
Work Schedule

The position requires availability for:
  • Every other weekend shifts
  • On-call duties when census is low

Dress Code

Staff are required to wear ceil blue scrubs. Please note that sweatshirts and crocs are not permitted.
