Big Creek Lumber Company, a leading supplier of lumber and building materials in central California, seeks an Outside Sales Representative to develop contractor business at our Vallejo location. Our ideal candidate has a passion for sales and customer service as well as an interest in construction and experience with lumber and building materials. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsible for:

• Prospect for new customers
• Develop successful, long-term-relationships
• Perform sales with contractors and homeowners on the phone and customer job sites
• Ensure a high level of customer service for all projects sold
• Increase sales to existing customers
• Achieve individual and branch sales and profitability goals

Preferred candidate has:

• Excellent sales and customer service skills
• Good practical knowledge of building materials and construction terminology
• Ability to work effectively with others to obtain a high level of customer satisfaction and promote Big Creek's image in a positive manner
• Good computer skills, including ability to use technology effectively to build customer base
• Highly effective communication skills, particularly outstanding phone skills
• Self-disciplined with good organizational skills
• Positive, personable, professional attitude
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. from the ground into the bed of a standard size pick-up truck
• Current California driver's license with clean DMV record

Rate of Pay:

• Guaranteed minimum of $6,000 per month for the first six months while establishing a customer base. If monthly earned commissions exceed $6,000 during this period, the higher commission amount will be paid. After the initial six month ramp up period, compensation transitions to a 100% commission plan.
• Expected Earnings: $72,000 to $250,000 annually, based on sales performance. Top performers may exceed this range.
