Primary Purpose:

Maintain accurate student records for the campus. Under direct supervision, perform data entry including attendance with knowledge of the Student Attendance Accounting Handbook, Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data, and grades. Process student enrollment, transfers, and withdrawals for the campus.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, perform data analysis, and do word processing. Proficient in keyboarding, 10-key numerical data entry, and file maintenance. Strong and effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Bilingual preferred.

Experience: Data entry experience preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Records and Reports

Collect and enter attendance and PEIMS data into an established database and verify accuracy according to established procedures.

Assist parents, students and faculty with questions regarding student attendance, discipline and demographics.

Compile, maintain, and file all (both physical and electronic) reports, records, and other documents as required including: attendance reports, truancy documentation, class or personnel rosters, end-of-semester reports, enrollments, withdrawals, transfers and substitute lists.

  1. Maintain confidentiality.
  2. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  3. Call parents to verify student absences as needed. Report all attendance problems to the designated Administrator.
  4. Work directly with staff responsible for student attendance and truancy responsibilities by providing data and reports as requested.
  5. Administer medication to students, check temperatures, and notify parents of student illness in nurse's absence.
  6. Use a positive approach in all customer service transactions.
  7. Assist Principals Secretary as needed.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals

Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse

Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)

Environment: Work is performed in an office setting; may require occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours

Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions
