About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Duration: 14 Weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 to 3 years in ICU preferred License: Valid State License (Compact License required) Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Cardiac and neuro experience, general surgery experience, trauma experience Description: Seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse. The position will involve floating between units. Weekend shifts are required, every other weekend. Patient ratios are expected to be 1:2 to 1:3. Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias is required. Candidates should have experience with patients facing multisystem organ dysfunction or failure. Skills in arterial line management, central line care, and continuous IV sedation are essential. Knowledge in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips is important. Care of ventilated patients and interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) are critical skills. Suctioning and adhering to isolation precautions/PPE are necessary. The unit provides interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Patient diagnoses will include trauma, cardiovascular surgery, general surgery, and neuro cases. Special equipment utilized will include ECMO and IABP.
