About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year in Med/Surg care License: Active Virginia State or Compact RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Proficient in Med/Surg care Experience with Rapid Response and Code teams Skilled in peripheral line care/management Knowledge of nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management Proficient in oxygen administration and tank management Familiarity with isolation precautions Description: The Registered Nurse will work in a medical surgical setting. Shifts are scheduled for three 12-hour night shifts. Charting is done using an electronic system, and experience in this system is required. The nurse will be expected to care for adult patients with various medical conditions. Patient ratios during shifts will be 1 nurse to 6 patients. Floating may be required within the skillset. The role may include charge nurse responsibilities and precepting new staff. The typical patient population includes those with elective surgeries, trauma cases, and various medical diagnoses. The facility is designated as a trauma center and is recognized for nursing excellence. Nurses are required to work holidays as part of the assignment requirements. It is essential for candidates to adhere to all compliance and operational policies. The work environment includes interdisciplinary support from various healthcare professionals.
