Job Description - Unit Clerk-Emergency Department (PRN/As Needed) (7446-3935) Job Description Unit Clerk-Emergency Department (PRN/As Needed) - 7446-3935 Rockdale Medical Center Description Performs administrative/clerical duties in support of an assigned area. Reports to: Nurse Manager; FLSA: Non-exempt. Greets patients and visitors. Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls. Calls codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested. Enters nursing requests subject to the approval of a licensed nurse. Asks for clarification when necessary. Assists with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. Assembles and maintains patient records and charts. Performs needed clerical tasks, including copying, filing, and ordering/stocking supplies. Assists RNs and physicians with other patient activities as needed. Enters tickets for broken equipment and tracks for patient safety. Knowledge of computer order entry. Utilizes SCI to retrieving orders, consents, labs and H&P. Participates in departmental PI plan to include regulatory and professional standards compliance. Patient Experience: Employee shall endeavor to provide a superior patient experience. Qualifications Minimum Education: X High school diploma or equivalent □ Preferred X Required Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
