This position coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, acts as a patient advocate and works as part of a team with ancillary and non-nursing departments. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. Experience: 1 year or less Certifications: BCLS upon completion of hospital orientation; ACLS and PALS within six months of hire or transfer date to position. Licenses: Current RN license in state of practice

Critical thinking Work well under pressure while keeping calm and maintaining customer focus PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Repetitive motion of upper body re-quired for extended use of computer. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. Works in well-lit, ventilated and climate-controlled office environment with routine office equipment; some equipment has moving mechanical parts. Noise level in the work environment is typical for an office and/or hospital environment.

- Assesses the patient's condition and nursing care needs.
- Sets goals and prescribes appropriate nursing interventions to meet physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative needs of patients.
- Develops individual nursing care plans.
- Implements care plans and makes revisions as needed.
- Evaluates patient care outcomes.
- Collaborates with physicians and other hospital employees.
- Administers medications, treatments and therapies.
- Communicates with patients and oversees provision of care.
- Provides patients and/or family with instruction and education relevant to condition.
- Accurately documents nursing observations, assessments, medications, treatments, and other care given.
- Maintains facility equipment, supplies and work areas.
- Assists in the orientation of new employees.
- Coordinates and supervises activities of employees and department operations.
- Participates in performance/process improvement activities.
