Senior Accountant

An opportunity is available for a seasoned Senior Accountant to assist with the financial reporting and accounting tasks of a diverse organization spanning across different regions. The successful candidate will have a pivotal role in managing the monthly financial closing, consolidation of various business entities, and preparing precise financial statements within set deadlines. This role provides exposure to intercompany accounting, cost accounting, and ensuring compliance across different jurisdictions.

Duties

Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes by drafting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and handling accruals.

Create and review consolidated financial reports for multiple legal entities, eliminating intercompany transactions and balances.

Monitor and reconcile accounts with domestic and foreign affiliates, including currency translation.

Investigate and resolve discrepancies in balance sheet accounts promptly.

Assist in preparing supporting documentation for audits, bank reporting, and compliance packages.

Manage various tax filings, including sales/use tax and property tax, across different regions.

Produce and analyze management reports on a monthly basis, including variance analysis.

Develop and document internal controls, accounting policies, and closing processes.

Support special projects, such as system implementations and process enhancements for senior management.

Requirements

Mandatory

Hold a Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university.

Have at least 3 years of progressive accounting experience with general ledger responsibilities.

Possess a strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.

Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems and the ability to adapt to new systems.

Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Preferred

Possess a CPA license or actively pursuing CPA certification.

Experience in multi-entity consolidations and intercompany accounting.

Exposure to foreign currency accounting and international operations.

Previous involvement in external audits and lender reports.
