Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum, ensuring safety, comfort, and emotional support. Oversees and coordinates care with interdisciplinary teams to promote positive outcomes for mothers and infants.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor fetal and maternal health continuously throughout labor and delivery.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments and preferences.
• Administer medications and interventions to support labor progression and manage complications.
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care.
• Collaborate effectively with obstetric teams, ensuring seamless communication and care coordination.
• Document all care activities accurately in electronic health records and participate in discharge planning.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license in the state of practice.
• Demonstrate at least two years of recent experience in labor and delivery nursing.
• Maintain current BLS certification and ACLS certification.
• Possess EPIC EHR system experience.
• Be certified in fetal heart monitoring (FHM) and neonatal resuscitation (NRP) or ARC-NALS.
• Strong critical thinking, assessment, and patient education skills.
