Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (ICU Stepdown) position requiring BLS, ACLS, and ID or compact RN licensure.

Details

• 4th floor Progressive Care Unit (ICU Stepdown) in a Trauma Level II facility
• 11-bed unit with an adult patient population
• 4:1 patient ratio
• Common diagnoses include CHF, detox, stroke, NSTEMI, STEMI, neuro conditions, COPD, diabetes, and sepsis
• Uses IV pumps, EKG monitors, SCD devices, and bladder scanners
• Charts in Meditech EHR
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a
• Scheduled every other weekend
• No call requirements
• May float to med/surg for patient load or 1:1 safety needs

Requirements

• Active RN license (ID state or compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with 2 years in progressive care or ICU preferred
• RN degree required
• Skilled in EKG monitoring, patient assessment, wound care, IV management, and strong communication
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Copies of required certifications must be provided for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to adult patients with cardiac, neuro, respiratory, and other acute conditions
• Positive attitude and strong communication skills valued in this collaborative unit setting
• Scrubs of any color permitted; hoodies, open-toed shoes, hats, and offensive clothing graphics are not allowed
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or more from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment
• Weekly orientation offered
