Heavy Equipment Operator

MPS Group, Inc., is seeking multiple Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team at the Cleveland Cliffs Facility located in Middletown, OH. These individuals will be responsible for general laborer duties that include loading and unloading equipment, setup and breakdown equipment, line trailers, drive trucks, operate equipment, or any other systems and processes for the job, as well as performing daily manual labor in an industrial setting as defined below.

Shift Details:

Shift: 3rd Shift

Schedule: Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday 4:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. / Week 2 - Monday, Wednesday-Friday 4:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.

Responsibilities and Job Duties:

• Conducts thorough inspections of yard trucks and trailers to ensure safety and operational readiness.
• Performs precise hooking and unhooking of tractors for efficient trailer movement.
• Evaluates trailer tarps for integrity and functionality.
• Installs liners to maintain load containment.
• Operates heavy equipment including excavators and wheeled loaders for material handling and site operations.
• Verifies load accuracy at each terminal to ensure compliance with transport and safety standards.
• Maintains detailed documentation of diver, spotter, and operator communication at each terminal.
• Manages trailer switching and re-spotting under chutes at multiple terminals locations within Cleveland Cliffs.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Minimum of six months experience operating heavy equipment.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• OSHA 10 certification is mandatory prior to hire (may obtain through company sponsored program).
• A valid driver's license.
• Ability to follow basic equipment operating instructions, safe work practices, commercial and industrial process.
• Able to pass a background check.
• Able to pass a drug test and physical.
