Territory Manager

Position Purpose The Territory Manager – Specialty Products at SRS Building Products drives strategic sales growth and builds robust stakeholder relationships across the assigned territory. The role conducts market research to identify emerging opportunities and threats, translating insights into actionable sales strategies to optimize product prospects. The candidate collaborates with internal teams, maintains deep product knowledge, upholds superior service standards, fosters customer loyalty, and contributes to sustained expansion in the specialty segment. Key Responsibilities Formulate and execute detailed sales strategies to meet or surpass corporate objectives, capitalizing on emerging markets and staying informed of new products and competitive landscapes. Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with key industry stakeholders (architects, builders, contractors, distributors) to enhance market presence. Conduct in‑depth market research to pinpoint trends, opportunities, and potential threats, converting insights into proactive sales strategies that drive growth. Continuously evaluate territory performance against predetermined sales targets and KPIs, initiating necessary adjustments to ensure goal attainment. Engage with internal departments (marketing, supply chain, customer service) to facilitate seamless operations and enhance customer satisfaction. Develop and sustain comprehensive knowledge of specialty products, offering expert advice and insights to clients to foster sales growth and customer loyalty. Produce and present thorough sales reports and strategic insights to senior management, contributing to informed decision‑making and business expansion. Travel & Physical Requirements Travel Requirements: Frequent travel within the designated territory to engage clients, stakeholders, and conduct market research. Physical Requirements: Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment, engage in extensive telephone communication, sit or stand for extended periods, and lift up to 20 pounds during travel or trade events. Working Conditions The role operates within a hybrid work environment combining office‑based and remote work flexibility. It demands a high degree of self‑motivation, adaptability, and proactive time‑management in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven agenda. The candidate must navigate a dynamic setting leveraging digital tools for communication and collaboration across teams. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. Minimum five years of sales‑management experience in the building materials industry, specifically in specialty products. Demonstrated success in driving sales growth, achieving sales targets, and cultivating strong stakeholder relationships. Comprehensive understanding of market dynamics, trends, and competitor activities within the building supply sector. Excellent analytical skills to evaluate market data, assess performance metrics, and derive actionable insights. Proficient in communication and negotiation, effectively presenting and influencing diverse stakeholders. Proficiency with CRM software and sales analytics tools. Willingness and ability to travel as required. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline. Experience leading high‑performance sales teams. Advanced CRM and data analytics proficiency for sales and market trend tracking. Established network within the building materials industry, especially in specialty products. Proven ability to develop and execute innovative, enterprise‑aligned sales strategies. Experience managing complex sales cycles and long‑term client engagements. Strong project‑management skills focused on strategic planning and execution. Understanding of sustainability trends and their implications on the market. Track record in facilitating product training and presentations to diverse audiences.
