Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN for a 13-week travel contract at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated academic medical center, with on-call requirements and complex cardiothoracic case experience required.

Details

• CVOR unit within a Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated teaching hospital with 820 staffed beds
• Cardiothoracic surgical patient population with complex cardiac, vascular, and transplant cases
• Case types include CABG, TAVR, LVAD, Impella, valve repair/replacement, ascending and descending aortic procedures, and heart and lung transplants
• Must be able to circulate complex cardiac, general OR, and vascular cases
• Schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts, 6:00 AM–6:30 PM
• On-call is required, averaging 5–8 calls per month including at least one weekend call
• Holiday on-call coverage may be required
• Charting is done in Epic

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact multi-state RN license; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have an active SC license prior to start
• Current AHA-issued BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR RN experience required
• Experience circulating complex cardiac, general OR, and vascular cases required
• Social Security card and driver's license required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Circulate complex cardiothoracic and vascular surgical cases including transplant procedures
• Radiation badge is required; badge will be provided
• Online orientation modules must be completed prior to start date
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for standard travel rates; local candidates within 60 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Previous MUSC permanent or PRN staff must have been separated from the MUSC system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• First-time travelers are considered for this position only with 5 or more years of experience
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; approvals are based on department needs
• This facility is located in a hurricane-prone region; during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties
• A $20 one-time registration fee is required to obtain a parking hang tag for the designated parking garage; the hang tag is not valid in other parking areas
