Senior Attorney- Real Estate (In-House)

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Attorney to join our legal team and support a growing real estate organization. This role will serve as a key legal advisor to executive leadership, with a focus on real estate transactions, contracts, and overall business operations, while also overseeing litigation matters.

The Senior Attorney will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload, providing high-level legal guidance, and leading a team of attorneys and legal staff. This position requires a seasoned professional with strong experience in all phases of real estate transactions, a deep understanding of real estate and business law, and the ability to align legal strategy with organizational goals.

Pay: $200,000.00 - $300,000.00 per year

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee all phases of real estate transactions, including contracts, acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and development projects
• Oversee litigation, general liability, professional liability, and real estate-related disputes, including managing outside counsel, ensuring effective case strategy, and controlling costs
• Provide strategic, business-oriented legal advice to executive leadership and cross-functional teams
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including real estate contracts, vendor agreements, leases, and corporate documents
• Support acquisitions, dispositions, development projects, and other real estate transactions
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations
• Advise on risk management strategies and proactively identify potential legal issues impacting the business
• Develop and implement internal policies, procedures, and legal best practices
• Maintain oversight of legal matters, claims, and potential liabilities across the organization

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in California required
• 8–12+ years of legal experience, with strong experience in real estate transactions, contracts, business law and litigation
• Litigation experience required, including overseeing cases and managing outside counsel
• Demonstrated experience leading or managing a team of attorneys or legal staff
• Strong background in contracts, business law, and risk management
• Experience working in-house or advising corporate clients preferred
• Excellent judgment with the ability to balance legal risk and business objectives
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Additional state bar admission is a plus
