Unit Specifics Number of Beds: 101 Patient Ratios: 4:1 typically; up to 7:1 on ED behavioral holds Unit Staffing: Technicians available for cardiac monitoring and internal processing, as well as unit clerks for day and night shifts. Type of Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors Documentation System: Cerner Scheduling Requirements: Every other weekend; flexible scheduling to meet departmental needs. Floating Policy: Must be open to floating to all sections within the Emergency Department. Patient Experience Requirements: Familiarity with AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You), maintaining respectful behavior towards patients, and ensuring boards are updated with relevant information. Certifications Required ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) BLS (Basic Life Support) PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) - within 90 days of hire Hiring Profile Requested Skill Set: A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or a high-volume emergency department with over 100,000 visits annually. Previous experience in a high-acuity environment is preferred. Must Have: 2 years’ nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Room setting. A strong teamwork mentality and the ability to provide real-time coaching and feedback are essential. Flexibility to work in various areas of the Emergency Department is required.
