Job Title: Machine Operator Job Description

This role operates and monitors production machinery in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment on a first-shift schedule. You will set up machines, support consistent production output, and ensure products meet quality standards while contributing to a growing operation that is ramping up additional production lines over the next few years.

• Set up, operate, and monitor production machinery and equipment according to established procedures.
• Follow detailed work instructions, production schedules, and standard operating procedures to meet daily production goals.
• Inspect raw materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality specifications and report any nonconformance.
• Make basic machine adjustments and troubleshoot minor equipment issues to maintain smooth operation.
• Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and preventative maintenance on machines as required.
• Load raw materials into machines and safely remove completed products from equipment.
• Accurately record production quantities, machine performance data, and quality results in production logs or systems.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.
• Use general production, assembly, and material handling skills to support overall manufacturing operations as needed.
• Operate a forklift when required to move materials and finished goods safely around the production area.
• Adapt to varying workloads, including periods of slower production and increased activity as additional lines come online.

• At least 1 year of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn equipment operation quickly and accurately.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in a production setting.
• Basic math and measurement skills for production counts and quality checks.
• Strong attention to detail and a consistent commitment to product quality.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods during the shift.
• Ability to lift and move materials as required by the position.
• Experience with production, machine operation, or general production tasks.
• Ability to perform basic inspection of materials and finished products.

• Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical inclination and interest in learning more advanced equipment operation.
• Experience with general labor, assembly, or general production work.
• Forklift operating experience or willingness to learn.
• Interest in growing into more advanced responsibilities as the operation expands.

You will join a growing manufacturing operation in a clean, climate-controlled facility with modern equipment and a clear plan for expansion. The current pace allows for manageable workloads and learning time, while upcoming new production lines create opportunities to take on more responsibility in the near future. You can build valuable hands-on experience in a stable environment that supports long-term growth and development.

This position is based in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility operating on a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will work around production machinery, material handling equipment such as forklifts, and inspection stations. The role involves standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift, as well as handling raw materials and finished products. The facility is in an expansion phase, with additional production lines planned, so the environment will evolve from slower-paced operations with some downtime to a more active production setting as demand increases. Dress will align with a typical manufacturing environment, including appropriate work attire and any required safety gear.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
