This position will operate in a hybrid work environment, 1 day per week in the office ( Philadelphia, PA ). OVERVIEW: The Account Opening Specialist is a member of Glenmede's Onboarding team and plays a critical role in delivering a seamless, compliant, and high-quality experience as new and existing clients transition their accounts with the firm. This role serves as the primary owner of the account opening lifecycle and partners closely with Relationship Managers, Fiduciary, Compliance, Risk, and Operations to ensure that new accounts are established accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with regulatory and firm requirements. The Client Onboarding Specialist acts as a trusted process expert and problem-solver, balancing client experience, advisor needs, and risk management while driving each onboarding case forward with urgency and accountability. RESPONSIBILTIES: Client & Advisor Experience
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Relationship Managers and internal partners throughout the onboarding process.
- Guide new clients and advisors through onboarding requirements with clarity, professionalism, and responsiveness.
- Ensure onboarding reflects Glenmede's commitment to a personalized, high-touch client experience.
- Own a pipeline of onboarding cases simultaneously, managing priorities, timelines, and dependencies.
- Drive onboarding cases from intake through completion, proactively identifying and resolving issues that could delay account opening.
- Maintain accountability for timely progression and high-quality execution.
- Prepare and review new account opening documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with client intent.
- Validate account structures, titling, tax considerations, situs, and affiliations.
- Partner with Compliance, Fiduciary, and Operations teams to confirm onboarding requirements are met prior to account opening.
- Work closely with Relationship Management, Fiduciary, Compliance, Operations, and Technology teams to coordinate onboarding activities.
- Act as a subject matter expert on onboarding processes, requirements, and best practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve onboarding workflows, documentation quality, and cycle time.
- Contribute to the enhancement of onboarding tools, templates, and reporting.
- Participate in onboarding-related initiatives that strengthen consistency, scalability, and risk management.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in client service, account opening, or a related role within financial services.
- Familiarity and understanding of trusts and other legal entity structures.
- Demonstrated agility with technology. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with strong proficiency in Excel. Experience with Salesforce preferred.
- Detail-oriented with client service experience.
- Experience working with high net worth clients and/or supporting a luxury brand experience.
- Demonstrated aptitude for problem solving and process improvement.
- Team player with the ability to organize work, prioritize appropriately, work well under pressure, and multi-task.
- Experience or desire to work in a financial services environment.
- Professional demeanor and ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, with individuals across the organization. Ability to deal discreetly with confidential information.
- Strong relationship building skills.
