This is a 2nd Shift- 4 pm to 2:30 am, Monday through Thursday opportunity.Mid-Continent has been a supplier to first-tier OEMs within the medical, aerospace and defense industries for decades. Mid-Continent Engineering stuffs the armed forces supply chain with products of our capabilities such as precision machining, aerospace welding, chromate conversion, paint/powder coat finishing, mechanical assemblies, and other design-assist services.A few things we have to offer:Competitive WagesMedical, Dental & Vision for employee & family including domestic partners.401k with matchTuition ReimbursementPTO accrual starts immediately.Yearly shoe allowanceReferral ProgramSummary: Develop and/or adapt inspection equipment to meet quality control standards, make suggestions regarding procedures, standards, methods, and equipment to facilitate work and maintain product quality.Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following:Advanced quality control activities such as mechanical inspection, CMM, special process verification (welding, painting, plating) and internal auditing.Use basic statistical tools such as statistical process control (SPC), pareto charting and capability studies to ensure a stable processSet-up and operate all quality equipment for use in accomplishing quality assurancePerform complex inspection procedures using precision testing equipmentDetermine the reason for product defects and communicate to othersInvestigate and determine direct cause/root cause of problems and implement corrective actions of non-conformances with the production supervisorsMaintain discipline, morale and harmonious relations among employeesSupport and maintain the Quality Management System/Quality Records, raw material, hardware certifications, C of C's, reject reports, CAPA databases and inspection recordsPerform receiving, in-process/ final inspection for quality, appearance & compliance with customer specifications, for complicated parts and assemblies with little to no supervision.Perform other duties, as assigned.Education & Experience:High School Diploma/ G.E.D or a degree from an accredited university/ college; or equivalent work experience of 3-5 years' experience in Quality Control in a manufacturing environment with minimum education requirement.Blueprint reading/GD&T knowledgeExperience working in an ISO 9001 and AS9100 environmentMicrosoft Office products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.Epicor ERP Software experience is a plus.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
