Job Details Job Description: Join Intel's Advanced Packaging Technology Development - Substrate and Wafer Assembly (ATPD: SWA) team and help us fulfill our mission to be the supplier of choice for leading‑edge, cost‑effective substrate packaging. As a Manufacturing Equipment Technician, you will support critical manufacturing equipment and drive continuous improvement in a highly technical, cleanroom production environment. Shift Information Night shift, Wed‑Fri and every other Saturday Hours: 6:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. Key Responsibilities Perform electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting to diagnose issues with non‑functioning electromechanical equipment used in semiconductor manufacturing. Dismantle, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches, or engineering drawings. Perform setup, calibration, and preventive maintenance on production equipment, focusing on wet chemistry, plating, and dry high‑vacuum toolsets. Document maintenance activities, repairs, parts usage, and findings in accordance with established procedures and systems. Collaborate with engineering, process, and support teams to improve tool performance, reduce equipment downtime, and enhance process capability and reliability. Lead or contribute to continuous improvement projects, including root cause analysis, yield and uptime improvement initiatives, and optimization of maintenance practices. Assignments are semi‑routine in nature and performed within generally defined parameters. Employees normally receive general instructions on most work and are expected to exercise judgment in resolving nonstandard problems. Required Skills And Attributes Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with peers, engineers, and customers (internal stakeholders). Basic computer literacy, including the use of email, web‑based systems, and common office productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office applications) to document work, create reports, and communicate with team members. Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and adjust to rapidly changing priorities. Data analysis, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting abilities, including interpreting equipment data and logs. Work Environment And Physical Requirements Ability to work in a cleanroom environment for extended periods while wearing full cleanroom attire (coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, and gloves). Willingness to work in proximity to chemicals, follow all safety procedures, and wear a respirator when required. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs as needed. Ability to climb ladders as required by the role. Willingness and ability to spend the majority of the shift (greater than 90 percent, excluding breaks) on the manufacturing floor working on equipment, which may involve walking approximately 3‑5 miles per shift. Standing and/or sitting for up to 9 hours per shift, as required by tasks. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Associate degree in a STEM‑related technical field and 2+ years of experience in equipment maintenance. Bachelor’s degree in a STEM‑related field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics). High School Diploma/GED or higher plus 4+ years of hands‑on manufacturing experience in a relevant technical environment. High School Diploma/GED or higher plus 4+ years of military technical experience. High School Diploma/GED or higher plus 2.5+ years of experience in equipment maintenance or a closely related technical field. High School Diploma/GED or higher plus 3+ years Technical/trade certification or 3+ years technical experience. Preferred Qualifications 1+ year of prior experience in one or more of the following areas: Troubleshooting, installation, repair, and operation of electronics equipment, wafer fabrication tools, or assembly/test tools. Working with wet chemistry, plating, and/or dry high‑vacuum equipment in a manufacturing or R&D environment. Use of electrical and/or mechanical measuring devices such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, calipers, and micrometers. Use of torque wrenches and other standard hand tools. Reading and interpreting complex electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. Working on and repairing mechanical and/or electrical equipment systems in a manufacturing, semiconductor, or industrial environment.
