Job Title

Registered Nurse – CVICU (Cardiovascular ICU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days (3x12-Hour Shifts, 7:00–19:30) | Onsite | 36 or 48 Hours/Week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic ICU setting at a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Care for post-operative open heart surgery patients including CABG, aortic aneurysm and dissection repair, and endovascular repair cases
• Manage and monitor advanced hemodynamic support devices including ECMO, IABP, Impella, and Swan-Ganz catheters
• Perform and assist with bedside procedures including CRRT, arterial lines, CVCs, chest tubes, bedside tach/peg, NG tube insertion, and bedside surgical procedures
• Utilize facility equipment such as Hemosphere, Cortrak, Arctic Sun, Blanketrol, Glidescope, Pupilometer, Belmont, BairHugger, ZOLL, and Philips monitors
• Float as needed within scope to other ICUs, PCU floors, ED (for admitted patients), and PACU (for admitted patients)

Required Qualifications

• Active or pending RN license (non-local applicants only; must reside outside a 100-mile radius of facility)
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (RQI certifications not accepted)
• Ability to work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve & New Year's Day
• Non-local driver's license required on file
• Must complete drug screen within 30 days of assignment start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior CVICU or CTVICU experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with patient diagnoses including cardiac arrest, pulmonary embolism, heart failure, MODS, and sepsis
• Experience with Cerner electronic health records
• First-time travel nurses accepted
