Title: Long term sub (September 2026-January 2027)- School Psychologist Position Summary: Wayland Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and nurturing School Psychologist to join our Student Services team. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about integrating psychological services to support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of students across all grade levels. Duties and Responsibilities (Not limited to): Comprehensive Evaluations: Conduct psycho-educational assessments for students in grades K-5 and 9-12, including cognitive, social-emotional, behavioral, and executive functioning domains. Assessment of Eligibility: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of federal and state special education eligibility categories and criteria to determine student needs. Team Collaboration: Present evaluation findings at interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Outside Report Review: Review and interpret outside neuropsychological and psychological reports with teams to facilitate the discussion of recommendations. IEP Development: Write measurable social-emotional and behavioral goals and objectives for student IEPs based on evaluation data. Consultation: Consult with staff and parents at IEP and Student Support Team (SST) meetings to address educational, behavioral, and mental health needs. Qualifications: Education: Master’s, Ed.S., or Ph.D. in School Psychology from an accredited program. Experience: Experience conducting comprehensive evaluations in a school-based setting or pediatric environment is preferred Cultural: Experience with diverse populations and a strong commitment to Wayland’s goals of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Professionalism: Strong communication skills and the personal characteristics necessary to serve as a positive role model for students. Education and Experience: Advanced Degree: Master’s, Ed.S., or Ph.D. in School Psychology from an accredited program. DESE Licensure: Active School Psychologist license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). SEI Endorsement: Evidence of Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement is mandatory.
