Job Summary A Nursing Professional Development Generalist uses tools and knowledge to improve learners’ understanding of healthcare. They work with staff to implement programs for professional development and continuous learning. The focus is promoting practices that improve patient outcomes organization‑wide. This role also advances professional development in line with the system’s standards, fostering growth, learning, and practical knowledge in healthcare. Essential Functions Assess target audience needs, considering current issues and trends. Validate these needs with stakeholders and use data to create personalized content for education planning. Use evidence, theories, research, and experience to create education programs. Ensure integrity in activities and offer guidance on ethical conflicts. Respect participants’ autonomy, dignity, and rights; report any violations promptly. Support scientific inquiry and evidence‑based practice. Facilitate research, ensure quality improvement, and promote findings through educational programs. Key Success Factors Familiarity with benchmarks and operations of nursing and patient care. Knowledge of nursing laws, standards, regulations, and certification bodies; understanding of hospital policies and procedures. Knowledge of medical terms, health practices, and medication effects for disease management and prevention. Excellent communication skills, including writing and speaking. Highly effective social skills to engage with diverse groups. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. At least three years of relevant experience. Registered Nurse (RN).
