Volunteer

Mid Valley Hospital & Clinic

Hospital Volunteer Opportunities

Hospital volunteers support the patient-care environment by assisting staff, welcoming visitors, and helping departments run smoothly. Their presence creates a warmer, more responsive atmosphere for patients and families. Volunteers do not perform clinical work, but they contribute in meaningful ways that build confidence, communication skills, and real-world experience inside a healthcare setting.

Possible Volunteer Duties

Volunteers may be assigned to various areas based on age, interests, and department needs. Duties can include:

  • Greeting and directing patients, visitors, and families
  • Delivering flowers, mail, comfort items, or patient belongings
  • Assisting staff with non-clinical tasks such as organizing supplies or assembling packets
  • Supporting waiting rooms by offering information and ensuring families feel supported
  • Running errands within the hospital (lab runs, delivering documents, stocking closets, etc.)
  • Helping with special projects, events, or administrative support
  • Providing companionship through friendly conversation or quiet presence when appropriate

These tasks offer valuable exposure to hospital operations, interdepartmental teamwork, and professional communication.
